Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable, high-performance backend applications.
- Design, implement, and optimise RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
- Work with relational and NoSQL databases to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
- Implement security best practices, authentication, and data encryption techniques.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps, and product teams to deliver seamless integrations.
- Optimise backend processes for performance, scalability, and fault tolerance.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Stay up to date with emerging backend technologies and best practices.
- 3+ years of experience in backend development.
- Strong proficiency in Python, Node.js, Java, or Go.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Proficiency in database management (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or DynamoDB).
- Hands-on experience with microservices architecture and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Understanding of API security, authentication (OAuth, JWT), and data encryption.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and DevOps practices.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Experience with message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Redis Pub/Sub).
- Knowledge of serverless computing and event-driven architectures.
- Exposure to automated testing and test-driven development (TDD).
- Familiarity with AI/ML model deployment in backend environments.
