The centralized seed handling (CSH) warehouse is where innovation and precision meet to ensure the highest quality and efficiency in seed processing and storage. POSITION SUMMARY
As a Centralized Seed Handling Associate, you will play a pivotal role in the efficient and effective management of various processes within our seed handling warehouse environment. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks critical to maintaining the quality, organization, and timely distribution of seeds. This role demands a strong attention to detail, a thorough understanding of warehouse operations, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
YOU'LL BE EMPOWERED TO:
- Seed Processing and Packaging: Execute tasks related to receiving, inspecting, cleaning, processing, and packaging various types of seeds according to established protocols and quality standards. Ensure accurate labeling and documentation.
- Inventory Management: Oversee seed inventory levels and conduct regular audits to maintain accurate records. Collaborate with inventory manager to address discrepancies and optimize stock levels.
- Quality Assurance: Perform quality checks at various stages of seed processing and packaging, identifying defects, inconsistencies, or deviations from specifications. Take corrective actions to maintain seed quality.
- Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate and maintain seed processing machinery, equipment, and tools. Conduct routine maintenance and coordinate repairs as needed to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Data Management: Utilize computer systems and software to record and track inventory movements, processing steps, quality assessments, and distribution. Generate reports to monitor operational metrics.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, logistics, and quality control, to ensure seamless coordination of processes and timely delivery of seed orders.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry standards to maintain a safe working environment. Participate in safety training and contribute to continuous improvement of safety practices.
- Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce waste, and enhance overall efficiency. Propose and implement improvements that contribute to the warehouse's productivity.
- Training and Supervision: Assist in training new employees on seed handling procedures, equipment operation, and safety protocols. Provide guidance and support to team members as needed.

Education
- Associate degree in agriculture, logistics or other relevant degree
Experience
- Agriculture knowledge of practices and management.
- Knowledge of precision & agricultural equipment preferred.
- Problem identification, problem solving and improvement & execution of processes.
Software/Skillset
- Strong Computer skills: Microsoft Excel & proprietary tools
- Operate and troubleshoot small electronic equipment.
Other
- Ability to lift 60 lbs. repetitively.
- Ability to work in various climates & conditions.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Operate forklift in a safe manner.
- Ability to focus and work independently with little direction.
